[more+]Of Strength and Hope is a black-and-white portrait series following a single figure, Titania, through fear, uncertainty, endurance, growth, and peace. Though rooted in one person’s presence, the work is intended to reflect a near-universal human experience: the process of evolving through struggle.
The series moves through emotional states many people quietly carry – feeling lost, confronting hardship, learning to endure, growing into oneself, and eventually arriving at a deeper sense of confidence and hope. Rather than presenting strength as grand or dramatic, the images focus on quieter forms of resilience such as remaining present, continuing forward, and learning to live honestly with who one has become.

[more+]Seep is an exhibition that centers on ideas of slow movement, infiltration, leakage, and how things spread quietly over time. It explores permeability between materials, memories, bodies, and environments. It considers what happens when boundaries fail to hold and when meaning moves slowly through surfaces rather than staying fixed within them. The works in these images embrace instability as a condition of becoming, where nothing remains entirely contained or permanent.

[more+]After more than a decade behind locked doors, Sacramento's historic Fire Alarm Dispatch Station will reopen to the public through Coordinates: Dispatch, a large-scale contemporary art exhibition featuring the work of nearly thirty Sacramento artists. Opening August 8 and continuing through October 10, 2026, the exhibition marks one of the first major public activations of the restored 1937 Art Deco landmark, inviting visitors inside a building many have passed for years but few have ever experienced.
Presented by Sites of Vacancy, LLC in partnership with the Midtown Association, Coordinates: Dispatch represents the cultural debut of one of Sacramento's most significant adaptive reuse projects. Through newly commissioned installations, sculpture, painting, sound, video, and performance, the exhibition demonstrates how contemporary art can activate historic civic architecture while reconnecting communities to places that have long stood vacant.

Using a free digital pass, you can check in at featured murals throughout the district, unlocking an interactive experience that awards points that can be redeemed for raffle entries on a number of amazing prizes. Along the way, you will hear directly from participating artists through exclusive audio recordings that provide insight into the inspiration, meaning, and process behind their work.

A: Sutter Health’s Midtown Second Saturday takes place May through October every Second Saturday. Midtown Second Saturday is an all-day celebration of local artists, live music and theatre, culinary arts, family-friendly park activities, nightlife and more.
Q: What should I expect at Midtown Second Saturday?
A: Midtown Second Saturday is a celebration of arts and culture within Midtown Sacramento, and an opportunity to highlight the people who bring it to life. Every Midtown Second Saturday will be a unique experience, featuring live art exhibitions, musical and dance performances, family-friendly demonstrations, and food and drink specials at your favorite Midtown bars and restaurants. Some of the attractions you can find include our monthly curated Art Walk, art markets featuring local talented art vendors, outdoor movie nights, Instagrammable moments around unique art pieces, live painting, installments of new iconic murals in Midtown – the list goes on.
Q: Where are Second Saturday events held?
A: Each Second Saturday celebration will be held throughout Midtown. Discover art installments, galleries, art pop-ups, live music, special events, and dining and drink specials throughout the district in key locations, such as the Midtown Farmers Market, Fremont Park, art galleries, and more. Q: How can I find the schedule of activities?
A: Each Midtown Second Saturday will feature unique activities and experiences, ensuring that each month is as memorable as the last. Every Midtown Second Saturday, we will update this page with a calendar of events and welcome you to check out our interactive map to find galleries, watch theatrical performances, and support creative businesses. Each month you can also, enjoy the following:
- From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., experience an enhanced Midtown Farmers Market with live music and art experiences on 20th Street between J and Capitol.
- Throughout the day, enjoy Midtown’s galleries, art pop-ups, live performances, and a new signature event each month by checking out our calendar of events here
- After 10 pm, 10 preapproved e-permit holders will host Second Saturday afterparties inside their bar or venue with enhanced art experiences such as live performances, comedy, and dance.
Q: Where should I park for Midtown Second Saturday?
A: Second Saturday is about exploring the district and seeing everything Midtown has to offer, and there is no better way to do that than walking, biking, or scootering. We advise all visitors to park at one of Midtown’s parking garages, then exploring the district on foot. A list of Midtown parking lots and garages can be found here.
Q: What are the costs to attend Midtown Second Saturday?
A: Nothing! That’s one of the best parts of Second Saturday. Throughout the day, visitors will be treated to free art showings and live performances. Businesses throughout Midtown will be offering specials and their own activities, which may require tickets and/or entrance fees to participate. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of these offerings to support the small businesses that make our community special.

Wayfinding
Once here, Midtown is walkable, bike, scooter, and car-share friendly. To make getting around Midtown even easier, you can look for recently installed colorful Wayfinding navigation posts. These posts display biking and walking distances to Midtown’s top 15 activity centers, so you can confidently explore the area in an easy and fun way!
Some of Midtown’s finest art can be found on building walls, in alleyways, or doubling as signage for a local small business. Starting in June, there will be a digital passport program coming that incentivizes your visits to these murals with prize raffles and interviews with the mural’s artist. More details coming soon!
