Years ago, Olivia photographed Las Escaramuzas at a Charriada in the highlands of Jalisco, drawn to their movement's strength and elegance and the tension between choreography and control. She was once a dancer, too, but never entered that world. Instead, she observed. She archived.
This exhibition bridges past and present, legacy and longing. Her return to older images, recontextualizing them alongside new portraits of Tenorio—a queer man from the same region, now living in Los Angeles, who dances and connects deeply with horses. His presence—fluid, proud, and powerful—becomes a mirror and a counterpoint: the masculine and the feminine, the remembered and the reimagined.

It was the cars that first drew Angelo in—the craftsmanship, the artistry, the attention to detail—but the more he learned about the history, the people, and the stories behind each ride, the deeper his connection grew. He realized he wasn’t just photographing vehicles; Angelo was documenting a way of life, a labor of love woven through generations.
Angelo began as an outsider, simply observing. But over time, that changed. He's met extraordinary people, shared countless stories, and celebrated meaningful milestones within the community. What started as an interest became something far more personal and profound.
Through this work, Angelo hope to offer a different view of lowrider culture—one that honors its beauty, pride, and deep sense of belonging. In place of the tired stereotypes, he has witnessed creativity, resilience, and an unwavering love of tradition. This is the story he wants these images to tell.
