GRACE & THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT by Jane Kelley, Clifford Lee Johnson III, and Greg Alexander

In this foot-stomping new musical, Grace accidentally knocks down the fence between her dad’s well-manicured backyard and Mr. Hertz’s wildflower garden, where she discovers three monarch-butterfly eggs on a broken milkweed plant. To make amends, she vows to raise them. Unfortunately, the caterpillars are eating machines, and finding more milkweed for them to eat is hard enough in the suburbs. Follow Grace as she learns all about these miraculous animals and preservation they need to thrive.

To coincide with this tremendous milestone, they have planned special celebratory concerts in Ireland and abroad, inviting special guests to join them. Their latest album ‘Donegal’ was released in 2024 by Nashville based Compass Records, to widespread positive reviews. Altan has always been regarded as tradition bearers, bringing their native Donegal music and songs to a wider public, keeping true to their roots while exploring modern arrangements and textures to entice new followers. Company Members Tara Sissom, Stephanie Altholz, Jason Kuykendall (and sometimes Dave Pierini!) perform classic long-form improvisation for a late-night audience. Coming out of Chicago’s comedy scene, the Harold has been used by famous improv groups like Second City which developed comedic talent such as Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and Tina Fey. Based off an audience suggestion, performers will create a one-night-only improvised play, so every performance will be unique! As an exciting caveat, if we do achieve “maximum occupancy” (aka a sell-out show), we buy everyone pizza!
