Ordered Chaos
06-13-2026
06-13-2026
Presented by ARTHOUSE on R Gallery & Studios at ARTHOUSE on R Gallery & Studios, Sacramento...
[more+]ARTHOUSE is pleased to present “Ordered Chaos”—two- and three-dimensional creations by Linda Nunes and Jenn Norpchen—at ARTHOUSE Gallery in Sacramento’s premier art destination, the R Street Corridor.
Embracing the concept that art is making order out of chaos, the two award-winning artists and art teachers have created dramatic and whimsical 2-D and 3-D works on canvas and gourds. They are exhibited at ARTHOUSE Gallery, 1021 R Street, from June 13, 2026, to July 5, 2026, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Linda Nunes is a mixed media artist and teacher who exhibits locally and in the Bay Area. She is the cofounder of Rancho Cordova Arts. Ms. Nunes describes her method as process-driven and intuitive, involving experimentation and a deep joy in watching something unexpected take shape. Primarily two-dimensional, her works are created with either encaustic (bee’s wax and resin) or cold wax and oil with an assortment of mixed media. Her large atmospheric abstractions are characterized by gestural marks, texture, and color with a good dose of whimsy. Jenn Norpchen, with a degree in interior design and a minor in fine arts, uses her background in ceramics and sculpture to meld the two mediums into her gourd art. Ms. Norpchen describes her process as part treasure hunt and part daydream. She employs the precision of architectural design and the wild right-brained magic of engineering each piece until a character emerges. Her gourds are vibrant and playful with a touch of laughter to each piece.
