What does it feel like to be surrounded by 6–9-foot flowers?

You’re about to find out! Kaiser Permanente‘s Fremont Park Bloom, a vibrant outdoor art installation is transforming one of Midtown’s most beloved green spaces into a glowing garden of creativity for more than 40 days starting on May 9, 2026. Featuring towering 6–9-foot illuminated poppy sculptures inspired by California’s state flower, the installation brings bold color, light, and artistic expression to the heart of Midtown, creating a striking visual experience for park goers, day and night.

Presented by CADA and Midtown Parks, Fremont Park Bloom celebrates the power of public art to activate shared spaces and will feature signature events throughout its time in Fremont Park. From art-specific programming for Midtown Second Saturday and free wellness classes during Fresh Air: Midtown Parks to twilight yoga and a picnic poppies series, Fremont Park Bloom offers an immersive lineup of activities.

Supported by Brown Construction and the City of Sacramento, Fremont Park Bloom reflects Midtown Parks‘ continued commitment to investing in arts experiences that strengthen community pride, support local creatives, and create vibrant public spaces for all to enjoy. Midtown Love | Community Fundraiser Event | 6—9 P.M.

Tickets Required for Admission

This annual event is a vibrant celebration of the arts and Sacramento’s creative community, all in support of Midtown Association and Midtown Second Saturday programming. Each year, Midtown Love showcases local talent through live performances, interactive art experiences, and opportunities to connect with fellow community members. This year provides a VIP unveiling of the Fremont Park Bloom art installation. Ticket and duck raffle details can be found here.

Midtown Second Saturday | 6—9 P.M. | Free

Art Market Signature Event

While Second Saturday is a monthly tradition that happens year-round, the Midtown Second Saturday series brings even more vibrancy into the district with an all-day arts celebration. The signature event features an art market full of local artists, along with a silent disco party, all set amongst the towering poppies at Fremont Park Bloom.

Fresh Air: Midtown Parks Yoga Classes*

Tuesdays and Thursdays | 6—7 P.M. | Free

Yoga is a practice that focuses on physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation to enhance strength, flexibility, and mental well-being gentle.

Poppies Picnic Series*

Wednesdays | 6—8 P.M. | Free

Taking place every Wednesday, picnic in the poppies with live music, premade picnic basket meals from nearby restaurants, and family friendly educational programming.

Midtown Second Saturday | 6—9 P.M. | Free

Car Show Signature Event

While Second Saturday is a monthly tradition that happens year-round, the Midtown Second Saturday series brings even more vibrancy into the district with an all-day arts celebration. The signature event features a local car show, along with live music, for a celebratory atmosphere among the poppies.

Midtown Parks is a 501(c)(3) that aims to increase health and community engagement by investing in seven of Midtown’s parks: Fremont Park, Marshall Park, Muir Park, Sutter’s Fort, Truitt Bark Park, Washington Park, and Winn Park.
