As we approach August’s Second Saturday, we are thrilled to feature an exclusive interview with the remarkable local artist, Haley Titus. Known for her dynamic use of colors and shapes, Haley is not just painting in the present, but also connecting with the childlike wonder that fuels her creativity. In this interview, Haley shares insights into her artistic journey, her connection with Sacramento, and the powerful stories behind her creations.
A: I created a ton of art as a child and then lost touch with it during my schooling years. In college, I came back to art in a new way with a degree in graphic design. After learning the fundamentals of design, I was able to apply the principles within the world of fine art and murals.
A: I was asked by Danielle of Fort Sutter Hotel to do an art pop-up in their space. It was exciting to see a local businesses be open to highlighting an artist in their space.
A:My art is comprised of bold colors, and geometric backgrounds, paired with abstract shapes, plants, and flowers. Whether its a mural or canvas art, all the pieces have an underlying connection to the inner child and the whimsy of life.
A:The Sacramento market has given me the chance to expand my style with clients who are open-minded to exploring how my art can work within their brand or interior. This has given me a great foundation to bring my art into new cities around the state.
A:I hope to expand the perception of art, as a career, for the younger generations. My goal when installing a mural is to create the background in certain spaces that aim for positive change in people’s lives.
A: The Second Saturday events have an energy of its own. It attracts folks who want to celebrate art, create new connections, and bring a new energy to the Midtown grid.
