Welcome back to another year of holiday magic in Midtown Sacramento! The 12 Days of Midtown are coming soon, and we’ve curated a delightful list of activities for you to enjoy each day from December 1st to December 12th. Let’s dive into the festive spirit and make this holiday season unforgettable!
Kick off the festivities at Paragary’s restaurants, by tasting their special $12 holiday cocktails. Paragary restaurants including Centro’s, Paragary’s and Four Palms will be having special $12 holiday cocktails this year in honor of 12 Days of Midtown. Savor the Wassail at Four Palms, a warm cider drink with hints of orange and apple cinnamon. Or try the Jamaica de Navidad at Centro’s, with tequila, triple sec, Jamaica, lime juice and bitters. Paragary’s will have a variety of options including the Sleigh Ride, a gin drink with triple sec and grenadine, Weekend Getaway, a tequila drink with pineapple, orgeat, Benedictine, and bitters, and Strong Improvement, a bourbon drink with bitters and velvet falernum. Join us for a free outdoor movie night at Sutter’s Fort on December 2, featuring the Christmas classic, ‘Elf’. Bundle up, bring your blankets, and enjoy a cozy evening under the stars with Buddy the Elf. Guests can also enjoy snacks and warm beverages available for purchase. Let’s kick off this holiday season with joy, laughter, and a little Elf magic at Sutter’s Fort. The movie will start after sunset around 5 p.m.
Get crafty at Acheson Wine this holiday season! On December 3, Acheson Wine will be hosting a create your own wave resin cutting board with Awkwood Things – a perfect DIY gift for a loved one during the holidays. Plus, enjoy some wine as you unleash your creativity. Although, the December 3 event is already sold out, there will be another workshop on December 10. Find tickets here. Acheson Wine also hosts the Ocean Wave Resin workshop every month, so plenty of opportunity to sign up in the future. All materials are complimentary with your ticket and include a free glass of wine for adult participants.
Adults looking for some holiday cheer can enjoy the holiday spirit at Midtown Spirits! Savor festive cocktails and immerse yourself in the enchanting, bright and festive holiday decorations that will transport you into a winter wonderland.
Shoppers can explore Kulture, a delightful gift shop, for unique finds including Mexican imports, jewelry, art, pottery and more. Then on December 9 from 4-8 p.m. , shoppers will want to return for their Posada event on K Street– a festive celebration that includes delicious food such as tamales, hot chocolate and empanadas, amazing vendors, and live music.
Snow Fever: A Karaoke Christmas is produced by B Street Theatre and promises a fun and lively show to all guests. Be transported into a backwater Montana bar, the Wet Whistle, as a small band of co-workers and malcontents are determined to make this Christmas nothing like the last. Will everything work out? Always a Midtown favorite, guests can experience the joy of the season at Jungle Bird’s Sippin’ Santa pop-up, which offers festive drinks and holiday cheer to elevate the holiday spirit.
Adults can cozy up in favorite holiday sweaters at Kupros while indulging in warm drinks perfect during wonderful wintry evenings.
Shoppers can explore local treasures at the Midtown Farmers Market, the perfect place to find unique, handcrafted items sure to please family and friends on holiday gift lists. Plus, Matty the Giant Elf will be roaming throughout the market to bring some extra holiday cheer. Make sure to participate in the market Ugly Sweater Contest at 11:30 a.m. in the Market Square. Visitors will have a chance to win gift cards to local restaurants by showing up in your holiday worst.
Those looking to add some flair to Sunday Brunch are encouraged to experience Roscoe’s Drag Brunch, a fabulous way to enjoy delicious food and dazzling entertainment. There are two drag brunch shows available, with seating options at either 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Buy your tickets in advance here.
Sweet lovers can indulge in mouth-watering holiday treats at Rick’s Dessert Diner, offering a delectable selection of festive, house-made desserts.
Adult revelers can wrap up 12 Days of Midtown with the annual Hot Toddy Competition at the local hotspot, The Golden Bear. The festive annual tradition includes special festivities, live music, and a spirited competition to determine the best Hot Toddy. The event has a $5 cover that benefits Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services and starts at 7 p.m.
Visit us at the Midtown Farmers Market every Saturday to support small businesses and find your friends and family a unique gift. Plus the month of December has plenty of festive things to look forward to. On December 2, Courtyard Private School will be offering a snowman STEM-activity for children at the Market Square and IKEA will have information about their holiday toy drive. On December 9, is our ugly sweater contest with special appearances from Matty the Giant Elf. On December 16, find Safe Credit Union at the Market Square for some free gift wrapping and live music. In addition to their movie night on December 2, Sutter’s Fort has plenty of fun activities during the winter to look forward too. On December 1st they will have their first ever Flashlights & Friends event – where you and your family can enjoy holiday music, activities and crafts and more. Plus guests are invited to use flashlights and lanterns to tour the Fort from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Find tickets here.
You can’t miss out on the annual Midtown holiday pub crawl hosted by XOSO Sports on December 9. Enjoy a bunch of midtown bars including Limelight, Cornerstone, Kupros and more with your friends. Follow @sacllace for their third annual HoliGay market series – queering the holidays! Every year, queering the holiday markets brings together hundreds of community members looking to fund unique gift items for the holidays from LGBTQ+ vendors. This year their night markets will be November 25, December 2 and December 9 from 6 – 8 p.m.
