Welcome to Winn Park, with iconic trees and ambient string lights for evening charm. It is the ideal place for picnics and relaxation with friends. The park also houses the future home of the Latino Center of Art and Culture, providing a community space for cultural celebration and elevation. Nearby, you’ll find excellent dining and coffee options like Hidden Dumpling House, Revolution Winery & Kitchen, and Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op. Throughout the year, enjoy events like art markets, El Bus de Frida, Sac Co-op gatherings, and free community yoga. Winn Park is a year-round destination for leisure and culture.
Midtown Parks played a leading role in re-envisioning and advancing the reuse of the historic 1937 Art Deco Fire Alarm Station in Winn Park at 1616 28th Street, which sat vacant for over a decade. Recognizing the building’s potential as a key community asset in a dense, transit-accessible corridor, Midtown Parks partnered with the City of Sacramento, the Economic Development Department, and the Central Valley chapter of the American Institute of Architects to support funding, design, and activation efforts. Midtown Parks advocated for additional City investment to enable energy-efficient upgrades, ADA access, lighting, and restroom improvements. The adaptive reuse building aligns with broader park revitalization goals and is designed to attract café, beverage, or community-oriented retail tenants committed to activating the space. With more than 8,000 nearby residents, major employers, and light rail access, the building’s revitalization will be used for activations as a vibrant, inclusive gathering place, with an opportunity for companies to become tenants and ensure long-term community benefit.
