For the romantic there is nothing more tried and true than the classic Valentine’s Day dinner.

Midtown Sutter is packed with amazing dining options; visit Centro Cocina for upscale Mexican food, Red Rabbit to find seasonal and local dishes and Ink Eats & Drinks to discover amazing cocktails.

If you want an elevated and customized experience with special Valentines Menus check out Paragary’s for a three-course meal plus dessert with food options including a wagyu steak and milk chocolate mousse. Or make reservations at Revolutionary Winery & Kitchen to enjoy dinner and drinks featuring a four-course menu (vegan + non-vegan options)!

Remember to make your reservations early! Whether for the actual day or even the weekend before, restaurants are always packed to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Find Romantic Staycations in Midtown

Treat yourself with some self-love or surprise your significant other with a staycation in Midtown at one of our favorite hotels to experience a romantic getaway like no other!

Café Bernardo & Fort Sutter Hotel

Enjoy seasonal and international flavors at Café Bernardo or find signature cocktails at the Four Palms Bar located inside the Fort Sutter Hotel. Afterwards, spend a night at the Fort Sutter Hotel. The urban inspired guest rooms feature large windows, ample natural light, and unique design touches.

Star Lounge and Hyatt House

On the third floor of the Hyatt House find a historic upscaled inspired bar, Star Lounge, to discover delicious food and cocktails. The hotel is situated right across the street from Sutter’s Fort and is walking distance to some of our favorite bars and restaurants.

To learn more about each of these hotels and plan your perfect staycation retreat read our Best Stays for a Getaway in Midtown blog.

Take a Stroll Down Midtown Sacramento’s Sweet Spot

Did you know that the 2400 block of J Street is known for holding many of our favorite sweet spots in Midtown! Find doughnuts, chocolates, pastries, cupcakes, and iconic dessert shops all in this one block in Midtown.

This iconic sweet spot on J Street includes Babes Ice Cream & Donuts, Ginger Elizabeth Patisserie, Icing on the Cupcake, Midtown Bakery and Ricks Dessert Diner! To learn more about each of these spots read our Sweet Spot blog.

Discover Chill Valentine Date Ideas

One of our favorite corners in Midtown is the 24K block filled with great but more casual food and drink options! Not every Valentine’s Day plan needs to be fancy. For more of our laid-back visitors, plan a chill night out to get some pizza from one of our favorite pizza joints at Pizzasaurus Rex and then walk over to Biergarten to enjoy a pint of beer!

Or get a famous Watermelon margarita from Cantina Alley and share an order of churros with caramel sauce (or let’s be real get your own, they’re too good!).

Bonus, Burger Patch will also be launching a special milkshake in honor of Valentine’s Day. Treat yourself to a Strawberry Patch milkshake, sure to make anyone fall in love.

Plan a Night Out on the Town

Hey if you’re single, or would rather go out to party, we got you covered too. Midtown is filled with energetic and vibey nightlife options like LowBrau who will be hosting a Single Ladies Beyonce themed dance party! Other great bars include Golden Bear, Barwest, Blue Cue, and Flamingo House. Follow them on social media to stay tuned to what DJ’s or events they have planned for the future!

Bonus, XOSO Sports is hosting a Valentine’s Day Color Crawl on Saturday, September 11. Locations are secret till you buy a ticket, but we have an inside scoop that the Valentine’s crawl will feature four Midtown bars, including Faces at the end of the crawl! Wear red to the crawl if you are single, blue if you are undecided, and black if you are taken and off the market.

Galentines Day at the Midtown Farmers Market

Whether in a relationship or not, do not forget to neglect your best friends. Valentine’s Day is about celebrating all love! Plan an intentional day with your friends to celebrate friendship. Our recommendation? Of course the Midtown Farmers Market! Bonus, Good News Wine will be having their annual For the Love of Hot Dogs menu all Valentines Weekend starting on February 11!

Whether it is a fancy dinner, live jazz music, a bar crawl or the Midtown Farmers Market there are so many different ways to celebrate love and Valentine’s Day in Midtown!

Don’t forget to make sure to stay tuned to our Instagram account @exploremidtown on February 14 to take part in our Midtown Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt!
