October Thrills in Midtown Sacramento

As the leaves change colors and the air grows crisper, it’s that time of year when Halloween is just around the corner. If you’re in Midtown Sacramento, you’re in for a fantastic treat! This October, Midtown has an array of exciting events lined up for you. From bewitching brews to our popular annual Midtown Halloween Festival and Pooch Parade, there is something for everyone. So grab your broomsticks, don your best costume, and get ready for a delightfully good time in Midtown.

Midtown Halloween Festival & Pooch Parade
Saturday, October 28, 12 – 3 p.m.
Marshall Park 

The annual Midtown Halloween Festival and Pooch Parade is a must-attend event for dog-lovers, families or anyone looking to have a fantastic time. Hosted by the restaurants of Midtown Sutter, this event promises a day filled with fun and festivities for both humans and furry companions. The highlight of the day is the “pooch parade,” scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. Over a hundred costumed dogs strut their stuff in creative costumes, vying for fantastic prizes such as Midtown Sutter gift cards. But that’s not all! Before the parade, enjoy a range of family-friendly outdoor activities:

  • Live Music: Presented by Harlow’s, get ready to groove to some tunes.
  • DIY Plant Jars: Presented by Paragary’s, create your own plant jar to take home.
  • Arts and Crafts: Courtesy of Café Bernardo and Four Palms, tap into your creative side.
  • Magic and Puppet Show: Brought to you by B Street Theatre, prepare to be amazed.
  • Pumpkin Bowling: Blue Cue is bringing a unique twist to the classic game.
  • Face Painting: Get your face painted presented by Ink Eats and Drinks.
  • Lawn Games: Enjoy Giant Jenga from Barwest.
  • Photo Booth: Tea Bar will have a photo booth for capturing memorable moments with you and your pup!
  • Dog Treat Guessing Game: Centro has a fun surprise for your canine companions.
  • Bounce House: Enjoy a fabulous bounce house for the kids (and the young at heart).

Sutter Health’s Midtown Second Saturday is ending their season of outdoor art programming on October 14 – and it’s closing out the season with a bang!  We’re promising a day filled with endless fun including art pop-ups, our K Street block parties, movie nights and even a Brewfest. Hops & Hounds Brewfest 

Dive into a day of tail-wagging fun at the first ever Hops & Hounds Brewfest happening at Midtown’s beloved dog park @truittbarkpark on Second Saturday, October 14. Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon of craft brews, beats from @djnocturnal, food trucks, and furry friends, all set against the backdrop of the live music and art of Second Saturday in collaboration with Beers in Sac. Movies in Fremont Park: Back to the Future

Are you ready to go back in time? Councilmember Katie Valenzuela and CADA Apartments are hosting a free screening of “Back to the Future” in Fremont Park! Swing by for a photo with a real DeLorean time machine between 5:15pm-6:30pm or take a selfie with an “Enchantment Under the Sea Dance” backdrop. Farm to Fort at Sutter’s Fort

Building on 13 years of beer and wine tasting event success, the 2nd annual Farm to Fort returns to Sutter’s Fort in Sacramento on Friday, October 20!  Expect the same high quality event you’ve come to know and love. Farm to Fort includes four hours of beer, wine, and spirits tasting, along with bite samples from local restaurants and food trucks. Murder, You Wrote Presented by Sacramento Comedy Spot

Enjoy Sacramento Comedy Spot’s “Murder, You Wrote” a comedic improv show where a murder most foul takes place on stage and must be solved by a detective and their trusty sidekick. The twist? Outdoor Movie at Sutter’s Fort: Disney’s Coco
