Fresh Air Meets Fitness in Midtown’s Parks

April 3rd, 2025

When was the last time you took your fitness outside?

As the weather warms up, Fresh Air: Midtown Parks returns with a series of free weekly health and wellness activities designed to encourage an active and mindful lifestyle, supporting the health of our community. Every year, these free fitness classes help thousands of people get outdoors, improve their health, and connect with others—all at no cost to you.

This year’s offerings include Meditation, Yoga, and the new Sacramento Run Club, activating four of Midtown’s parks every weekday from May to September. These free activities are open to all ages and fitness levels, providing a fun and inclusive way to stay healthy. Fresh Air: Midtown Parks  is a community amenity we can all take advantage of to enjoy the outdoors, improve our well-being, and meet new people. Be sure to check out the schedule and class descriptions below to determine if you need to bring any materials, like a yoga mat, before attending.

About Midtown Parks

Midtown Parks, which focuses on investing in Fremont Park, Marshall Park, Sutter’s Fort, Muir Park, Truitt Bark Park and Winn Park, was established in 2019 as the 501(c)(3) arm of the Midtown Association. Midtown Parks aims to support the well-being of the community by creating centrally located public spaces that provide opportunities for recreation, leisure, and to build relationships with neighbors. Parks and open spaces encourage active lifestyles and promote social interaction, which are essential components of enhancing physical and mental health. Based on hundreds of proven public-private partnership models throughout the country, Midtown Parks provides a path towards achieving these goals.

Transportation

All five parks provide a green space in the densely populated yet easy-to-navigate central grid. Transportation options include hourly street parking, SacRT bus & light rail, rideshare, as well as walking and biking.  Check out our transportation tips to getting around Midtown.
