Adrian first appeared on the guitar-world radar when he toured with Frank Zappa who later said, "Adrian reinvented electric guitar." Adrian's signature tones, unique use of effects and whammy bar remains completely different, and his techniques continue to be a huge influence on today's guitarists. He was guitarist, songwriter and frontman Progressive Rock Powerhouse King Crimson for over 30 years. "Discipline," Adrian's first record with King Crimson, is listed among the most important rock records ever made.

Adrian describes the show as, "a more complete picture of most things I've done. More songs, new songs from the award-winning FLUX app, King Crimson material I haven't played for years, and a dose of classic Power Trio. It's my intention to make this the best Adrian Belew show ever!

In his seven one-man shows that have graced the B Street Theatre stage, Jack Gallagher has explored his childhood home, fatherhood, concussions from bicycling, and his fleeting dream-come-true moment of a network sitcom. His shows are widely known and critically praised for their personal, yet comedic examination of his life. But, Jack has never delved into the career that gave him the chops to deliver these one-man shows: stand-up comedy. Until now!

A Stand-Up Guy is Jack (with writing help from son Declan Gallagher) telling his entertainment origin story, from open mics at The Improv in Los Angeles to his first Late Night with Johnny Carson appearance. In the 1980s The Improv was a club that made careers. Gallagher would be vying for stage time with future greats like Jay Leno, Dennis Miller, Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon, Adam Sandler, and occasionally Jerry Seinfeld. David Letterman once drew the analogy that if you got The Tonight Show it meant you could hit the curveball. It took him five auditions, but Gallagher’s big break came in November of 1985 when Carson announced his name.

Ex-cop and recent widower Walter “Pops” Washington and his newly paroled son Junior have spent a lifetime living between Riverside Drive and crazy. But now, the NYPD is demanding his signature to close an outstanding lawsuit, the landlord wants him out, the liquor store is closed -- and the church won’t leave him alone. When the struggle to keep one of New York City’s last great rent-stabilized apartments collides with old wounds, sketchy new houseguests, and a final ultimatum, it seems that the old days may be dead and gone.

This event will also feature CapChats, which expand on your theatre-going experience with stimulating conversations with Capital Stage staff and the production’s artists. This free event is offered after select performances of each production.

The Sacramento Film and Music Festival is proud to present their opening night Feature Around the Sun by Oliver Krimpas and writer Jonathan Kiefer.

Bernard, a film location scout, tours a repossessed and crumbling French chateau. Over the course of the afternoon, he slowly falls for both the place and its owner’s flirtatious representative, Maggie, who recounts the story of an influential popular-science book written and set there. But is their present-tense connection for real, or just a projection of the book’s 17th-century characters?

There will be festival introductions and a Q & A with individuals from the production.

Two Blind Bitches follows charming inmates Peach and Roller Baby on a thrilling ride of unexpected twists that will make you laugh, cry, and grip your seat with anticipation. This show checks all the boxes for a gritty night of damn good theatre. Plus, it's a brand new show written by local Sacramento playwright Leah Finity.

Thistle Dew Theater highly recommends you dive into this show with a blank slate, knowing nothing about what's ahead! If you're strong enough to resist, skip the summary and come to the show!

When Peach, a bright-eyed hopeless romantic, is thrown in prison on attempted robbery charges, she lands in a cell with brash, violent, ex-addict Roller Baby. When sparks ignite, Peach flings herself into a headstrong romance. With Peach's parole fast-approaching and Roller Baby's life-sentence looming, Peach digs in her heels and wages a battle to exonerate Roller Baby. But Peach soon discovers that prison is far more complicated than right or wrong and that love may bring out the worst in her.

Peach is played by Leah Finity, and Roller Baby by Angela Barber. Directed by Jesse Janzen.

Note: This play is rated "R" for language and adult scenarios.

All proceeds from the event will be split between Sacramento non-profit, Changing the Streets and Heart of Travel's volcano relief efforts in Guatemala, Fundación Fénix. Tickets include cocktails, appetizers, and our taco bar!

Changing the Streets is a Sacramento-based 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to help underserved communities through innovative programs in the spirit of the One Health initiative. They are a new organization in the process of developing programs locally and in Guatemala to provide much needed medical care and other services for people and their animals together. By providing services for both, they will be directly helping individuals, animals and strengthening the community.

On June 3rd of 2018, the Fuego Volcano erupted just outside of Antigua, Guatemala less than 15 miles away from Heart of Travel’s Guatemala office. All Heart staff members voluntarily began to crowdfund and volunteer to help in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy. Changing the Streets is happy to partner with the Heart of Travel to help their newly established Guatemalan based nonprofit organization, Fundación Fénix, to offer quality, long term assistance to those affected by the eruption, specifically women and children who were victims of the tragedy.

By working together, we can accomplish much more to help the people of Guatemala.
