Brent Meyer
Director of Strategic Initiatives
Brent joined the Midtown Association team in 2026 as Director of Strategic Initiatives. In this role, he leads public safety strategy and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen district services, stakeholder partnerships, and Midtown Association’s long-term community impact.
Before joining the team, Brent retired at the rank of lieutenant after more than 30 years with the Sacramento Police Department, where he served in progressively responsible leadership assignments. His experience spans public safety operations, transportation security, organizational strategy and development, budgeting, policy development, and labor relations.
Brent also held executive leadership roles with the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) and the Sacramento Police Officers Association (SPOA), where he led organizational initiatives, training, labor negotiations, advocacy efforts, and stakeholder engagement.
Brent brings a collaborative, practical, and results-oriented approach to complex challenges. He is excited to work alongside Midtown’s businesses, residents, community partners, and public agencies to help create safe, welcoming public spaces and support the continued vitality of Sacramento’s urban core.
When not trying to find and sample from the incredible coffee scene in Midtown, Brent can be found constructing a puzzle, reading, traveling with his wife, and hanging out at with their adopted 8-year-old Yorkie, Cody.
