Join us at our weekly Midtown Farmers Market for special Second Saturday activities including free yoga classes, live music from local musicians and a NEW monthly pop-up wine and beer garden. Get tickets to The Garden here.
Fun and surprising family-friendly interactive arts performances will include glitter tattoos, face painting, giant bubbles, hands-on crafts, and a family-friendly free outdoor concert with Code Blues at Fremont Park (16th & P) hosted by Capitol Area Development Authority (CADA). Plus, Rumpelstiltskin Yarn Store will be leading a community knitting activity in the park in celebration of Worldwide Knit in Public Day. Knit kits will be provided (while supplies last; first come, first served) and participants are encouraged to bring a blanket, lunch from nearby, and knit together in public at the park. Rumpelstiltskin Yarn Store will also provide a raffle prize for one lucky participant that will be announced at the end of the event and all pieces will contribute to a community scarf that will be displayed at the park after the event as well.
At the 24/K block, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, live chalk art and Instagram-worthy photo opportunities. Join us for this mini festival in the street from 4-8 p.m.! Discover a free live concert by the Albertson Duo, plus an extravagant bubble show by Pixie Tribe Entertainment. Hosted by Thomas Roth.
At 20th & K, find a sizable art market with spectacular artistic performances including Sacramento Contemporary Dance Theatre, live music by JAS, and a special performance from Aries Moon Circus sponsored by Heller Pacific and Fulcrum Properties.

Sacramento Free Art Drop re-emerges for the first time since 2020 realigning with the re-birth of Second Saturdays in Midtown! Donate your free art to the chest @thetradecollab – anything is welcome including paintings, art supplies, fashion, stickers, prints and more.

Join Self Designs Art Gallery for a lovely outdoor event that supports art in our community. Located in the courtyard behind Saigon Alley Restaurant, you can experience their art gallery which opens at 4 p.m. or find live musical talent at 1801 L Street, with amazing performers including AJ Kelley, Winter Reign, Kelley Jean and Four Eyed Whale. SEED will be hosting an interactive ceramic event open to the public. The tiles created from this event will be displayed at a later Second Saturday date! Additionally, handmade pottery will be for sale along with tasty bites and beverages to enjoy. SEED also hosts an introductory course and single sessions for beginners interested in easing into pottery.

This tucked away, pop-up art display at 2100 I Street is an incredibly unique must see for Second Saturday. The gallery exists within the framework of three bay windows, allowing artwork to be viewed 24/7 by people walking along the street. As an extension of the existing apartment building, InsideOut is a creative space for artistic experimentation.

Catch the latest show at B Street Theatre – BROKE-OLOGY. BROKE-OLOGY is a tender look at the King family at a crossroads. Enjoy the latest show from Capital Stage – The Hombres by Tony Meneses. The Hombres takes a look at the intimacy of male relationships through the point of view of Machismo culture – THE HOMBRES follows Julián, a gay Latino yoga teacher, as he clashes with the Latino construction workers outside his studio—particularly the older head of the crew, Héctor, who seeks from Julián something he never expected. Musician JB Barton will bring some acoustic melodies alongside his band to Turton Commercial’s private reception from 5-8 p.m. Although a private event inside, the band will play on the deck patio, so those passing by can still enjoy and listen to the music.
Kennedy Gallery is featuring their 2023 “Twenty20 Show”. This is one of the most renowned and prestigious exhibits in the region. Only the best 20 artists are selected for spots in this exhibit based on the creativity of their theme. As a Second Saturday participating gallery, Kennedy will provide the opportunity to meet resident artists, listen to live entertainment and sip drinks.
Stop at the Geery theatre for staged readings of different plays by Ryan Warren’s Second Wind Entertainment. An original play “The World Submerged” will be hosted on May 13th. Find tickets here.
Catch a movie at our favorite underground theatre in Midtown! On Saturday they will be showing two movies! At 5 p.m. watch Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives. Winner of the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, Uncle Boonme Who Can Recall His Past Lives is unique tale of a man embracing life’s greatest mystery. Or at 8 p.m. catch the movie Party Girl. Party Girl follows, New York free spirit Mary as she goes on a screwball-like journey from a life of late nights and hangovers to romance and a career as a librarian in this 1995 cult classic.

One of the best ways to soak up some Midtown culture is by walking around the grid to check out all of our amazing murals. Check out this self-guided Midtown mural walking tour created using the Wide Opens Walls map feature. You can customize your tour by deleting stops or adding additional ones.
