Luis Villa directly manages the active team of 9 staff members who directly respond to safety and maintenance issues requested by the property and businesses owners within the 92 block perimeter of the PBID. Luis also manages a relationship with Pride Industries, and their major role is to proactively gather litter and to remove graffiti and stickers.
Luis began his career at MA as a safety ambassador in 2013 and was promoted to manager in 2016. Luis is a student at Los Rios Community College and is less than 10 units shy of obtaining his Associates Degree in Social Science. Luis is planning to transfer to Sacramento State University afterward to pursue his Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Luis also obtained a Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate in 2012 from the University of the Pacific.
Luis is a strong advocate for individuals experiencing homelessness and works closely with the Sacramento community to facilitate outreach services and to participate in hiring fairs with close partners such as the Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness. Luis works in partnership with Sacramento Steps Forward and Sacramento Covered to provide Navigator services to the community, and also works closely with the Sacramento Police Department on crime reduction education through the CPTED program.
