Jeff Myers began painting farming artifacts and machine culture while, ironically, living and working as an artist in Brooklyn, New York. From time to time he would visit Sacramento, and began to paint outdoors in the Delta where he became increasingly aware of agricultural machines. They seemed like sculptural sentinels dotting the landscape, like a David Smith sculpture. One day in the Delta, he started to paint the form of the tractor itself. The tractors manifested a powerful intimacy that suggested many secrets, especially the older tractors richly draped in rust and chipped paint. Ashe continued to branch out, he painted more advanced machines such as droids and half-human/half-machine composites. He then realized there was a type of lineage occurring, as if the tractor was the grandfather to artificial intelligence. He perceived a type of dance between the organic and inorganic; a sense of a collective consciousness at work. Raised in a family of professional photographers, he always thought about different ways of integrating photography with oil paint through image transfers and collage. The collage elements in his work are all specific and mostly consist of photographic imagery taken from the “Body Environment Series.” In this series he uses aerial imagery of urban and agricultural patterns taken from a helicopter and projects them onto the human body, using up to five different projectors at once. Then, creating a type of digital collage, he creates random compositions. [less-]

"Full of tracks that are impossible not to groove to, Vista Kicks prove themselves as masters of their craft when it comes to conjuring up the perfect feel-great, dance-inducing vibe for any feasible situation. Yet, Booty Shakers Ball escapes such simple classification, as it is a true testament to the band’s range of depth, as songs like "Give Myself to You" showcase their talent for also crafting slow and sensational love songs." - Maxamillion Polo, Ones To Watch This album clearly marks their growth as songwriters and further refines their New California sound that sits comfortably in the world of alternative radio, but with its roots tied deep to the classic artists of the 60s and 70s. She has performed at rallies, demonstrations, and various political events around the world. In 2006 the California-based Ella Baker Center for Human Rights honored her with its first ever Human Rights Cultural Hero Award. Goapele's upbringing in her hometown of Oakland combined with ethnic influences from her South African father and New York-born Israeli Jewish mother have created a unique artist with a passion for her music and her community.

Perhaps, her most endearing quality is her constant work with the community to give back to people in need. Once called the "spiritual love child of Sade and DAngelo" by Rolling Stone magazine, Goapele has both a sensuous and serious voice that is making a difference in the music world by blending genres including jazz, soul, and hip-hop, infused with her own poetry.
