Emily Baime Michaels

Executive Director

Emily has led the Midtown Association for over six years. Under her leadership, the organization successfully renewed generating $15M in assessment funds for Midtown and in addition to the managing the existing Sutter District, formed the Midtown Central District and Midtown Parks. Additionally, policy positions taken on behalf of Midtown have been successful and collaborative, the Farmers Market has grown to be one of the best in the region, clean and safe efforts have expanded, and the organization has received clean audits for prudent fiscal management. Prior to Midtown Association, Michaels was the CEO of the Downtown Stockton Alliance and has 18 years’ experience with PBID/Business Association leadership. She contributed to planning for the World Cup in Rio, Brazil, and Tasting Australia in Adelaide, Australia. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy (USC), a BS in Hospitality and Tourism (SDSU), a Certificate in Fundraising Management (IU), and a Certificate in Hospitality Law. Most recently, she has served as a member of the following boards; Visit Sacramento, Friends of Sutter’s Fort, Midtown Neighborhood Association and served as the International Downtown Association’s Vice-Chair for the Council on Public Private Partnership. Emily has provided industry leadership on public private partnership with presentations at conferences held by the California Downtown Association, California Park and Recreation Society, and others. Emily and her husband Darin live in Sacramento and are co-authors of “A Year in Food and Beer, Recipes and Beer Pairings for Every Season.”
